Halloween

I'm just going to forgo internet anonymity and brag about living in the town that is the 3rd best place in the U.S. to celebrate Halloween (behind San Fransisco and city I've forgotten). You see, while other people (100,000 - I'm serious) are schlepping around in polyester costumes, looking for parking, wondering where to eat, etc. I LIVE HERE. I have a place to park, I have a legitimate right to trick-or-treating on a street with significant architectural history (i.e. the MANSIONS of federal era ship captains!), and I know that hands down "Passage to India" is THE place to eat.

But enough about how cool I am. I know that the real reason you are here is to see pictures of the girls.

Halloween in my town starts off with a Halloween parade on the first Thursday of the month. Tessa's costume was a work in progress the whole month. For the parade she had her fairy skirt to wear.

Meg's costume, a craigslist special, was much easier and oh so snuggly.

AUGH! Slap me. This kid is so cute!

Daddy is a butterfly (and fairy) hunter. He bagged a big one Saturday night.

When it came down to the ACTUAL trick or treat night (as opposed to the downtown retailers trick or treating, or the ward trunk or treating) Tessa was ready and Boo-yah! Look at that load of candy she collected.

Out of all the Halloween posts I've read. This one is definitely the cutest! I love Meg's face in her butterfly picture!

Love the pictures...and it is fabulous to live in Salem at Halloween!!

Your girls (and you & Aaron) look so cute! Audrey had that exact same butterfly outfit when she was tiny! :) So fun!!

i'm so glad you really go trick or treating. it seems on our end of moscow, the trick or treating has dried up and been replaced by the safe trick or treats at the dome, the tower, the mall or eastside market place. THANK YOU, emily and aaron and tessa and meg, for keeping the 'real' trick or treating spirit alive. stepping down off the soap box now. they're cute as all get out, and i love the picture of aaron and his fine catch.

If I were you, I would totally snag that full-size Butterfinger. Besides, she's too young to have that much candy right? (I seriously sneak candy out of my kids' baskets all day long and tell them they can only have 1 piece a day. Such a hypocrite.)

So Cute! Gosh, I'm a lame mom! My kids will have better costumes next year. Did you make that tutu, because I'm pretty sure Rett would like one. Although they're pretty specific about no cross dressing at the ward parties...;)
