Someone just (as in 6 weeks ago) turned ONE.
Meg shares her birthday with a little boy in our ward. When his mom and I talked about doing a joint "party" I warned her I had an idea for a theme but it might be a bit girlie (as in, not trucks). She gave me carte blanche so I went ahead with my idea.
Last year the kids were born on a 90 degree day in April and all the trees blossomed at once. So the theme was "Popcorn popping on the apricot tree" and I spent a good deal of my day making this...
Which as you can see had three cupcakes at the top that could be pulled off to make 2 birthday "cakes" and a pity "don't feel left out" cake for Tessa.

Holy Domestic Goddessness! That is an amazing cake. I'm so impressed. I love the crown pic at the end. What a little princess!
I have been anticipating this post! I love the cake!
Meg looks one!
Nice job on the cake! It looks like a great 1 year old birthday! She's adorable!
haha meg looks like she is so thrilled about being one. i can see it already when she's a teenager saying. "mom get that camera outta my face"
Love the party theme, that's so cute. I haven't been blogging for a while so I had to catch up on your pics/stories. I feel your potty training heartache!!! We're doing the same thing with Erin--for the last six months or so ;0) I'm just waiting for her to train herself someday. Hopefully things are going more smoothly for Tess by now.
